Shannex is a family-owned organization with a vision of Leading the Way to Better Living through the provision of seniors\' accommodation, service and care. We offer a full continuum of services for seniors through our Care at Home, Parkland Retirement Living, Faubourg du Mascaret and long term care communities.

We are pleased to announce that we are expanding our long term care options in the Fredericton region with the opening of Medley Hall, a 60-bed licenced nursing home that will be located at 610 Cliffe street, Fredericton joint with Neill Hall, early 2024.

Our team is seeking physician services through the roles of Medical Advisor and House Physician at Medley Hall. The positions will be held by the same person in this region, working hours would be 6 hours per week.

Medical Advisor

Shannex New Brunswick will appoint a Medical Advisor and will compensate that person through an annual retainer fee. The Medical Advisor provides medical administrative advice and is availble on a regular basis for general supervision of the nursing home\'s healthcare program.

In return the physician is expected to contribute to the following services:

• Establishment and on-going evaluation of the program for the provision of medical care;
• Advice/consultation on clinical and medical administrative matters to nursing staff, and administration as required;
• Preparation of reports and documentation concerning the overall health care program in the nursing home;
• Participation in case conferences and quarterly professional advisory committees relating to medical and nursing care;
• Advice and participation in in-services education programs.

House Physician

The House Physician provides primary care to residents.

The house physician provides primary medical services to residents, for which he/she will be compensated through the province of NB billing through Medicare. The physician must be registered to practice in the Province of New Brunswick by the New Brunswick College of Physicians and Surgeons.
