Position Summary

We are looking for a Senior Director, Creative Services to join MBCS\'s fast growing Creative Strategy team. Candidates\' experience should include leading content programs across various channels and extensive client and stakeholder relationship management. This role is part of a team of results-driven content experts, who service the many clients of Mediabrands Agencies in Canada.

This role reports directly into the President, MBCS Canada and sits on the SLT alongside the MBCS Creative Director.

The right candidate for this role is obsessed with learning about the fast-growing and complex content landscape. They are a self-starter, who can manage multiple work streams with order and attention to detail. This position is right for someone who enjoys building and fostering relationships with clients, partners, and colleagues. It is a highly interactive position with a mix of in-person and digital team and accounts leadership.

You will support our team of Content Experts including content strategists, influencer specialists, performance content leads and community managers. You will partner with members of the MBCS creative studio, Mediabrands Activation, Strategy, Investment, and Planning to explore and uncover new ways that content moves across a media plan.

This team member is also expected to contribute to thought leadership projects both through research and in contributing ideas and perspective. Mentorship and collaboration are key priorities of MBCS, and we will look to this individual to foster and build a team of content experts through leading by example and active coaching/teaching.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leveraging strong network relationships, build awareness, trust, and effectively position each of the Mediabrands agencies to sell through our full range of solutions
  • Act as a representative for Mediabrands, liaising with internal stakeholders and with external influencers to achieve growth of business and to build strong ties in the communications community
  • Responsible for setting a content-forward culture within Mediabrands agencies and MBCS
  • A leader who is keen to embrace the new age. An age where data, analytics, technology and media play a fundamental role in the creation and optimization of content.
  • Curious to experiment with funnel-based creativity and ready to work across all pipes of content - original, peer to peer, editorial, influencer, gaming, non-ad funded, utility creation to name just a few.
  • Partner with market President in driving innovative creative and content across all platforms for clients.
  • Oversee a team of Content Strategists, CRM experts, Dynamic Content Specialists and Influencer Managers
  • Leading and owning content expertise and working with teams to leverage MBCS capabilities across client programs
  • Take accountability for culture and operational efficiency and work with market president to develop and implement practices for products and services
  • Participation in the conception, design and development of creative and strategic initiatives
  • Candidate must have a high-level understanding around how content is consumed, discovered and created for various platforms within a plan, ranging from digital and social to TV, events and cinema
Desired Skills & Experience
  • Candidate should have a track record of creative agility, a strategic vision, and an ability to drive consistency in creative execution for content in the market.
  • Approximately 10 years professional experience as a creative in digital media, marketing, advertising, agencies, production, creative or the arts - with client management experience.
  • Exceptional relationship-building, service orientation, and client management skills
  • Strong leadership and business development skills including experience in bringing now products, teams, offerings to market and new business pitching experience
  • Demonstrated ability to build and deliver strong business presentations and build compelling story archs
  • Results-driven, proactive, and entrepreneurial mindset
  • Strong influence and negotiation skills
