Nokia is searching for a candidate for an important role leading media relations activities for IP & Optical Networks. Reporting to the head of media relations, the successful candidate will build a deep understanding of the breadth of Nokia\'s capabilities in addressing the portfolio of the IP & Optical Networks business group and take these competitive advantages to external influencers. As well as ensuring a regular news flow through press releases, events and appropriate social media activities, the role will be instrumental in understanding this important audience, building strong relationships and tailoring Nokia\'s communications to fit with the opportunities presented by the external conversations on the subject.
The role would suit a candidate that can bring together subject matter experts within Nokia and bring together a strong storyline that resonates with trade and business media. In addition to reaching out to media directly, the role will include managing international PR agencies to achieve value for money and strong results as well as working with Nokia\'s internal communications network around the world.
The successful candidate will understand the media audience well, particularly from an earned media point of view, be familiar with the capabilities of social media and aware of the shifting nature of global media outlets.
Joining a dynamic communications team with media relations experts around the world and working closely with stakeholders in marketing and investor relations, the candidate should have resourcefulness, energy and a good ability to prioritize activities to those which most clearly positively impact Nokia\'s business.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
Deliver and execute a plan for IP & Optical Networks media relations for the company incorporating all aspects of Nokia\'s end-to-end portfolio
Engage and enthuse the internal communications network to achieve strong business results
Create strong pitches for use by self, agencies, or regional communications teams that engage media and generate coverage
In-depth organizational and relevant business knowledge and understanding of how relevant areas can be integrated to achieve objectives.
Contributes to strategic decisions across the breadth of the company, sometimes on short notice and with input from multiple stakeholders.
Experience of managing large media outreach projects, expert in more than one area, broad perspective.
Must have extensive relevant experience in a large corporate environment, graduate degree or equivalent.
Typically requires 8-10 years relevant experience and / or a graduate equivalent (or higher) degree.
