We are looking for a Media Relations Coordinator that is interested in developing and implementing multi-media, web and social media content.
This is a Canada Summer Job open to youth 15 - 30
Responsibilities and Duties:
Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:
Assisting in creating a communications strategy to build engagement on sustainable initiatives
Assisting with marketing and promotion of community-based programs and events
Assisting in the development of outreach and engagement campaigns to support our membership drive and volunteer recruitment;
Assisting in managing and maintaining our membership database;
Assisting with program development projects including research as related to marketing and engagement;
Designing posters and graphics for social media and web to promote programs and increase volunteer engagement and outreach for the organization
Support team members as required
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
Familiarity with Google Suite (Docs, Slides, Sheets), PowerPoint or Keynote, Canva, mailchimp, would be assets
Solid experience with social media platforms, e-newsletters and/or websites
Experience with graphic design, digital design, creation of infographics, would be an asset
Experience creating and editing video and audio content for social media livestreaming and webinars would be an asset
A highly organized individual with excellent oral and written communication skills
Interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with different community stakeholders and diverse groups
Ability to work both independently, and as a team leader
Good problem-solving skills and self-motivated, positive ?can do? attitude is a must
Basic or advanced knowledge in one or more of the following areas: environmental issues, climate change action (mitigation and adaptation), environmental stewardship, would be an asset
Knowledge or experience within the Halton community would be an asset
Other Considerations:
This is a hands-on position and a majority of the work will be in-person.
Preference will be given to individuals who live in close proximity to Milton and can provide their own mode of transportation to and from events.
