Mechatronics Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Mechatronics Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the assembly, wiring, and testing of our hydronic heaters, and electronic control systems. This role is perfect for a problem-solver who enjoys working with both electronics and mechanics to bring products to life and ensure they meet our high-quality standards.

Core Responsibilities:



Product Assembly & Wiring:



Perform mechanical assembly of enclosures, including drilling and mounting components like PLCs, modems, power supplies, water pumps, and heating modules. Execute point-to-point wiring of internal components by following electrical schematics. Assemble and pin external Deutsch connectors, ensuring all wiring is neat, secure, and meets quality standards.

Product Testing & Quality Control:



Load and configure firmware and software on PLCs and other control devices. Conduct comprehensive, checklist-driven testing cycles on finished products. Connect hydronic heaters to our test bays, including fuel and coolant lines, to perform functional verification. Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve mechanical, electrical, or software-related problems found during testing. Meticulously record test results, deviations, and resolutions.

Workshop & Technical Support:



Assist in the design of wire harnesses. Assist in maintaining inventory of common electronic and mechanical components. Perform routine maintenance on workshop tools and testing equipment. Work closely with the engineering team to provide feedback for improving product design and manufacturing processes.

Qualifications & Skills:Required:



Proven experience in electronic assembly and wiring from schematics. Experience with testing and troubleshooting electronic or electromechanical systems. Familiarity with PLCs and control systems. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures meticulously. Excellent problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have (but not required):



Experience with CAD software (e.g., Fusion 360) for viewing or modifying simple designs, including creating/interpreting CAD wiring diagrams. Familiarity with manual fabrication tools or CAM equipment (plasma table, 3D printers). Experience in creating technical documentation or assembly instructions. Interest in hobby electronics. Interest in automotive mechanics.
Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.50-$35.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week

Work Location: In person
