Design & Documentation
Develop and interpret
3D models
of equipment, foundations, piping systems (e.g., valves, fittings, hangers), and structural elements such as decks and bulkheads for client vessels.
Create and interpret
2D engineering drawings
, including parts, assemblies, installations, and arrangement drawings (e.g., general arrangements, firefighting key plans, piping diagrams, and power system schematics).
Apply technical expertise to
review legacy vessel documentation
, assess approved engineering changes, and conduct vessel surveys to ensure documentation accuracy.
Engineering Change Management
Support and manage
Engineering Changes (ECs)
, tailored to the specific requirements of our defence clients.
Lead the integration of ECs, including configuration updates that introduce new capabilities or sustain existing ones, from concept through to onboard installation and acceptance.
Analysis & Reporting
Conduct
market research
, develop
option analysis reports
, and define
system requirements

Perform engineering calculations, impact assessments, and write detailed
technical specifications

Select appropriate equipment and materials based on performance, cost, and project needs.
Design & Integration
Develop
technical studies

Perform
structural design and analysis
to support vessel modifications and upgrades.
Leadership & Collaboration
Mentor and support junior engineers and technologists, fostering a collaborative and inclusive team environment.
Manage, coordinate, and review the work of other engineers and engineering technologists to ensure technical excellence and project alignment.
Education & Experience
A
Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Technology
or a related discipline.
0-7+ years of relevant experience
, ideally within the
marine or shipbuilding industry

Practical experience in
2D drafting

3D modeling
, and
engineering design/integration projects

Technical Skills
Familiarity with
ShipConstructor
is considered a strong asset, especially for upcoming marine-focused projects.
Proficiency in the
