:Position SummaryThis position is responsible for assisting the Facilities Manager in the general operation of Casino Nova Scotia. Must be collaborative, excel at multi-tasking and display exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Contributes to a safe and welcoming work environment for all employees. Motivates, leads by example and provides a learning environment. Ensures adherence to all policies and procedures. Above all else, must embrace and be aligned with Casino Nova Scotia's culture and philosophy of providing outstanding entertainment experiences.Key Accountabilities

• Responsible for providing all aspects of mechanical engineering technology (automation, control, trouble shooting, problem solving, instrumentation, etc.)
• Performs various non-technical maintenance tasks and procedures
• Responsible for preventative/corrective maintenance
• Responsible for codes/standards
• Responds to requests brought forward by management and employees (ie. work order requests, emergency situations, complex repairs or maintenance tasks)
• Conducts periodic inspections of building operations to determine condition; diagnose problems and initiate necessary action
• Complies with pre-determined internal controls and procedures
• Complies with safety and security standards
• Coordinates with department leaders in deciding how potential repairs/shut downs will affect their work area and the entire casino
• Exemplifies the four GEM steps and creates Great Experiences and Memories
• Finds ways to play; you are serious about work, without being serious
• Chooses to make everyday a great day
• Stays focused in order to be there
• Delivers an exceptional entertainment experience to internal and external guests to ensure you make their day
• Ensures compliance with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed

Education and Qualifications

• Embraces the Casino Nova Scotia culture and philosophy and has a playful, infectious and "all about the guest" attitude!
• Must have a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (combination of education and experience may be considered)
• Certified trades and/or previous technical or maintenance related skills considered an asset
• Must be proficient in reading and understanding blueprints and building codes and regulations
• Must be able to handle multiple priorities
• Must be able to work at various elevations (ladders, mechanical lifts, etc.)
• Must be organized and able to work independently
• Must have good problem solving skills
• Must be motivated and willing to learn
