The opportunity

Our Power & Storage business unit is currently looking to add a Mechanical Technician to our team at our Gas Storage facility in Crossfield, AB. In this position, you will provide support to five power generation facilities and two Canadian natural gas storage facilities within our Alberta Power Operations group.

Reporting to the Manager, Maintenance & Work Management Programs, you will be responsible for providing technical services and skills to ensure that various mechanical systems and equipment are effectively maintained and operated in accordance with internal and external standards, policies, and procedures. You will also collaborate with various teams and departments and be accountable for the development and implementation of asset optimization and performance strategies.

The regular work schedule for this position will be:
Week 1 - Monday to Thursday 9 hours per day; 8 hours on Friday
Week 2 - Monday to Thursday 9 hours per day; Friday off

What You\'ll do

• Perform and oversee maintenance tasks on gas turbines, gas compressors, pumps, motors, valves and all other associated mechanical equipment
• Support/lead in the work planning process for routine and major maintenance on reciprocating, rotating and associated auxiliary equipment
• Procure resources and manage within budgets for the facilities
• Participate with operations performing general facilities maintenance work and troubleshooting
• Perform emergency repairs
• Take active control of contractors
• Ensure facilities and personnel comply with TC Energy\'s safety, health, environment and risk standards
• Provide support to all assets within the Power Operations team

Minimum Qualifications

• Journeyman Millwright or Heavy-Duty Mechanic certification
• 8 years of relevant related experience, preferably in oil & gas
• Experienced with the interpretation of technical reference documents
• Strong mechanical / millwright skills to maintain rotating and reciprocating compressor equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Ariel Gas Compressors and Gas Turbines
• SAP experience
• Solid analytical and troubleshooting skills
• Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills

This position requires successful candidate to:

• 
  Have and maintain a valid Driver\'s License and provide a Driver\'s Abstract for review
• 
  As a safety sensitive position the selected candidate must successfully complete a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing
• 
  Be available after normal work hours and weekends, as required
• 
  Travel to other company locations for temporary assignments, outages, meetings or training
