We are looking for teammates who want to have an impact on the community through their work and are interested in taking on initiative to live out your Purpose through your work every day.Reports to: Team Lead or Engineering ManagerBased at: Regional OfficePosition Purpose: Working closely with the Project Manager, assisting on various projects, and contributing to the technical capability and production requirements of the Service Line. Provides exceptional customer service and coordination assistance with internal and external project partners (consultants, contractors, etc.).Specific Responsibilities Include:

  • Work with the Team lead/ Project Manager/ Engineering Manager in providing our clients with finished projects in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively with the Project Manager; this includes collecting and coordinating useful information.
  • Maintain a working relationship with other team mates.
  • Participate in discussions with client, as required.
  • Store and retrieve documents appropriately on the WE network.
  • Coordinate data and information collected in useful form for the PM.
  • Layout a set of drawings
  • Plot and compile drawings for technical reviews and submissions to clients
  • Work Closely with engineers to develop drawings
  • Review and mark up shop drawings
  • Develop routine day-to-day design details
  • May under supervisions conduct site inspection and write reports
  • Prepare technical design for a variety of the following:
  • HVAC
  • Piping/plumbing
  • Equipment selection and specification
  • Fuel systems
  • Energy analysis
  • Design routine mechanical elements
  • Perpetuate, clarify, and embody WE Purpose and Core Values.
  • Teammates are required to adhere to the company policies and guidelines as well as the company and client safety policies and practices in effect at any given time.
  • Have the ability to apply for a Federal security clearance in order to work on institutional projects as required.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Graduate from a recognized technical program or have 5 years broad field and/or design experience
  • May be working towards an AScT, C.E.T. or C.Tech designation
Skills and Capabilities:
  • Good interpersonal skills; a person who listens well, respects diversity of perspectives and has an open, clear and succinct communication style.
  • Effective organizational and time management skills in handling multiple projects, performing a variety of tasks, and meeting required deadlines.
  • Ability to represent the company to other WE team mates, clients and community by ensuring the best image is presented.
  • Application knowledge of WE systems and programs (including MS Office 365, SharePoint, Deltek Vision, AutoCaD, Revit MEP)
  • Understand provincial and national codes and standards
  • Ability to write basic reports.
  • Ability to have basic client service skills: be credible, attentive, reliable, responsive, and empathetic.
  • Ability to understand client expectations and exceed them.
  • Ability to communicate fully and clearly.
  • Fundamental understanding of budgets.
  • Ability to relate 2-dimensional drawings to 3-dimensional spaces
