Job Summary:

We are looking to hire a Mechanical Smart Building Systems Engineer, to join our team in Mississauga! In this role, you'll use your expertise in mechanical building systems and Ainsworth's data?driven analytics tools to deliver ongoing HVAC Fault Detection & Diagnostics (FDD) services across a portfolio of buildings.



Your work will help optimize HVAC performance, enhance occupant comfort, and reduce energy consumption. Depending on your background, you may also support our Master Systems Integration (MSI) and Ongoing Commissioning (OCx) services.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead ongoing FDD service meetings with clients and stakeholders Review mechanical drawings, BAS documentation, and building data to understand system design. Analyze insights from FDD analytics and develop maintenance and optimization recommendations Review and investigate insights from data-driven FDD analytics tools to develop recommendations for our FDD ongoing service clients. Typical maintenance recommendations address unstable equipment operation and faults, minor equipment repair needs and addressing deviations from system design intent. Typical optimization recommendations include BAS control sequence improvements, and improved equipment scheduling. Create data?driven visualizations and clearly communicate technical findings Collaborate with BAS technicians to support system improvements and data?directed maintenance Support deployment teams and identify opportunities for technology?driven building optimization

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline. 3+ years' experience with mechanical building systems (BAS, consulting, energy management, commissioning, etc.) Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems and BAS controls Experience with control sequences, optimization strategies, and data?driven decision?making Excellent communication skills with both technical and non?technical audiences Assets: ASHRAE Guideline 36 familiarity, data visualization skills, CEM or commissioning certifications, programming aptitude, eligibility for P.Eng. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel

The salary base range is $75,000 - $125,000 per year. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as alignment with market data. The base salary is just one component of Ainsworth's total compensation package, which also includes additional rewards and benefits such as short-term incentives and health insurance, among others.
