The Mechanical intern works in collaboration with the R&D Engineering team to design cutting-edge medical devices through testing and create various technical documents.Your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating advanced CAD models of parts, assemblies and equipment using SolidWorks tools.
  • Creating drawings in SolidWorks following internal Global Boston Scientific Corporation CAD standards and templates.
  • Using CAD Database Management tool to track drawings, parts, assemblies\xe2\x80\x99 revisions and properties.
  • Researching, developing, designing and evaluating mechanical and electro-mechanical material, components, assemblies, processes and/or equipment.
  • Conducting feasibility studies to verify capability and functionality.
  • Developing new concepts from initial design to market release.
  • Directing support personnel and coordinates project activities.
  • Maintaining detailed documentation throughout all phases of research and development.
Required qualifications:
  • Mechanical Engineering Student or graduate.
  • Required minimum years of experience: 2 years with CAD Software such as SolidWorks.
  • Strong mechanical engineering CAD skills, specifically with plumbing, tubing assemblies and sheet metal design using a CAD software.
  • Solid lab experience with debug, fixtures, and test equipment.
  • Ability to draw conclusions and make recommendations based on technical inputs from multiple and varied sources.
  • Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work with a team efficiently and independently.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with geometrical tolerancing and CAD design.
  • Experience with thermodynamics and flow analysis.
  • Experience using Solidworks Electrical 2D schematic and 3D Routing.
