Job Summary

Our large oil and gas company in Fort McMurray is currently recruiting Mechanical and Instrumentation Planners for a 1 year contract. (Contract Annual Review Date is December 31, 2019). Scheduled Shift is Monday to Thursday, 10 hours per day.

This position is located in Fort McMurray, AB and local candidates are preferred. Non-local candidates will be considered, but must be willing to secure their own accommodations, as there is no camp, LOA, or accommodation allowance provided.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Scheduler:

• Chair scheduling meetings
• Schedule planned jobs and resources
• Balance the resources in Primavera P6
• Update/ progress jobs in Primavera P6
• Responsible for preparing and maintaining the turnaround schedules, collecting the required inputs and developing the initial schedule identifying the dependencies, resources, critical path, baselines and other required aspects

Planner:

• Assists in development of the turnaround plan from inception to completion of the event, is in accordance with current Turnaround milestones as per Turnaround and company policy, procedure and safety standards.
• Reviews and assesses each Turnaround job on assigned area of unit for resource requirements (i.e., job strategy, drawings, materials, parts, engineering specifications, tooling, contract requirements, equipment, types and number of people, duration).
• Develops an estimated cost for each job, including all support and indirect costs (Primavera P6).
• Ensures availability of Turnaround materials, spare parts and equipment.
• Ensures coordination of work with CMS, Turnaround Teams, Routine Maintenance, Projects and other associated areas.
• Works with contractor to ensure the resources and equipment are in place for the execution of the Turnaround.
• Ensure accurate Turnaround progress reporting and communication of deviations to plans, schedules, forecasts and performance
• Provides support for punch-outs, as built, PSSR.
• Maintains turnaround history of completed jobs in STRIPES, documenting how the job can be improved in the future.
• Develop planned job packages and files. Develop up to date parts lists.
• Schedule workforce, order required materials and work with other support Planners within the TA Planning Team to plan and schedule activities.
• Track components and arrange repair and return of equipment.
• Complete all mandatory SHE and technical training.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Primavera P6 experience, required
• Scheduling course an asset
• Turnaround or maintenance scheduling experience, required \xe2\x80\x93 Boiler and coker experience will be an asset.
• Journeyperson Trades, Technologist or Engineer however will consider experience without education
• Previous Turnaround Planning experience, however a Mechanical, Rotating or Trades person with relevant experience will be considered.
• Experience in the maintenance area or project management.
• Technologists or Engineers with related experience will also be considered
• Ability to manage mulitiple tasks
• Excellent communication skills; able to work independently and within a team environment
• Know when to escalate issues for resolution
• Successfully pass a criminal background check
• This position is classified as safety sensitive, therefore you must also be able to pass a drug & alcohol test
• Possession of or eligible to obtain a passport
• Valid CSO training or OSSA BSO
