Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented

Mechanical Insulation Estimator

to join our team. This role involves preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for the insulation of mechanical piping and ductwork systems for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects. The ideal candidate has experience in mechanical systems, insulation materials, and estimating software/tools.

Key Responsibilities:

Review architectural, mechanical, and plumbing drawings/specifications to identify insulation scope. Quantify materials and labor required for insulating pipes, ducts, vessels, and mechanical equipment. Perform accurate takeoffs using digital estimating software (e.g., Planswift, Bluebeam, FastEST, or equivalent). Analyze job requirements, site conditions, and construction documents to prepare thorough estimates. Prepare bid proposals, cost breakdowns, and submit pricing in accordance with deadlines. Communicate with general contractors, engineers, and suppliers to clarify project requirements and pricing. Assist project managers with change orders and cost tracking during construction. Maintain an up-to-date database of material and labor costs. Stay current with industry trends, insulation materials, and code requirements.

Required Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent (Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Mechanical Engineering is a plus). 3+ years of experience in mechanical insulation estimating or a related construction field. Strong understanding of mechanical systems (HVAC piping and ductwork, plumbing). Knowledge of insulation types (fiberglass, elastomeric, mineral wool, calcium silicate, etc.). Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications. Experience with estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong mathematical and analytical skills. Excellent communication and organizational abilities.

Pay: $19.01-$25.00 per hour
