Pay rate: $16.00 - $25.00 per hour

Job description:

Mechanical Helper is responsible for effectively support mechanic at the shop, inspecting, following instructions and repairing heavy?duty trucks and trailers. Ensures all equipment meets federal regulations and CVSA/DOT standards. Performs preventative maintenance and repairs under the guidance of the mechanic.

Responsibilities:

Perform routine automotive maintenance tasks, including oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements

Properly use diagnostic tools and equipment in trucks.

Conduct inspections and testing of vehicle systems and components

Complete necessary repairs and replacements of faulty parts

Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repairs performed

Provide good customer service by addressing customer concerns and answering questions

Experience:

6 months experience as a mechanic.

Knowledge of automotive systems, engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems

Use diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve vehicle issues

Experience working in a automotive repair shop is preferred.

Qualifications:

Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.

Familiarity with operating heavy equipment.

Proficient in using hand tools and power tools.

Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and work in varying conditions.
