professionalto support our growing engineering team. You will work under our Lead Mechanical Engineer and Principal Engineer to help design HVAC and mechanical systems for commercial, institutional, and retrofit projects across Ontario.
This role is ideal for someone who wants hands-on experience in a fast-paced, contractor embedded engineering environment, gaining exposure to both design AND construction execution, while contributing to high-efficiency mechanical system designs.
You will work closely with our estimating team, BIM/Revit specialist, and project managers to deliver practical, constructible mechanical designs.
Key ResponsibilitiesMechanical Design Support
Assist in HVAC system design, load calculations, and equipment selections.
Prepare mechanical permit packages and design-build documentation.
Contribute to retrofit, modernization, and energy-focused design solutions.
Support the Lead Engineer on mid-size and large project designs.
Drafting & Coordination
Work with our BIM/Revit Specialist to prepare drawings and revisions.
Implement markups, coordinate updates, and help maintain mechanical design standards.
Support drawing production from conceptual layouts through final design packages.
Project Support
Provide technical assistance during construction.
Prepare design clarifications, schedules, and supporting documents for estimating and project managers
Participate in internal design and coordination meetings.
Learning & Growth
Receive direct mentorship from senior engineers.
Develop deep knowledge in HVAC system design, ventilation, hydronics, and mechanical code compliance.
Learn the full design-build workflow and how engineering decisions translate to real world installation.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or Engineering Technologist degree with equivalent experience
0-4 years of experience in mechanical consulting, HVAC design, or related field.
Familiarity with HVAC principles, calculations, and building codes.
Revit experience is an asset (training available).
Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Interest in energy efficiency, building mechanical systems, and practical design-build engineering.
