Responsibilities
Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers.
Oversee the development of high-quality engineering designs for nuclear facilities.
Provide technical guidance throughout design, construction, testing, commissioning, and plant operations.
Support problem-solving during project execution and resolve technical issues.
Collaborate with clients to understand needs and propose engineering solutions.
Manage workloads, resources, and contribute to proposals and cost estimates.
Monitor project progress (schedule, budget, quality).
Promote continuous improvement within the engineering team.
Key Technical Areas
Process piping design (valves, pumps, heat exchangers)
Fluid dynamics (steady-state & transient analysis)
Machine design, solid mechanics, failure theory
Piping stress analysis & FEA
Knowledge of OPG systems and processes (asset)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
Experience in the nuclear or heavy industrial sector (asset)
Leadership or team-supervision experience
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and client-interaction abilities
Ability to work on-site in Pickering, with occasional travel
