Position Summary

We are looking for a high performing Entry Level or Intermediate Mechanical Engineering position to join our development team for a 12-month fixed term, at 40 hours per week.

The Mechanical Engineering (Entry Level or Intermediate) position will work in a team environment supporting Space Business products. The successful incumbent will support Space Systems business deliverables through their entire product life cycle from concept through requirement, design, fabrication, test, and delivery.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Develop conceptual designs to meet customer performance, cost and schedule requirements.
  • Develop detailed designs, prepare/conduct mathematical and computer analyses to validate designs.
  • Prepare manufacturing drawings and documentation, test/qualification plans and procedures, coordinate prototype manufacture and qualification testing, and prepare engineering reports.
  • Provide engineering support for spacecraft structure design.
  • Generate structure designs using Unigraphics 3D CAD.
  • Perform stress analysis of structural components.
  • Perform thermal analysis of spacecraft components.
  • Present product design, analysis and report information to internal and external customers.
  • Conduct environmental testing and interpretation of test results.
Required Qualifications:
  • Successful completion of a university degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aeronautical Engineering from a recognized university.
  • Minimum two (2) or more years of relevant experience in a Space design/manufacturing environment.
  • Eligible for enrollment as a \xe2\x80\x9cProfessional Engineer\xe2\x80\x9d with EGM.
Skills & Competencies:
  • Previous experience in the following:
  • Structure design;
  • Generating structure designs using Unigraphics 3D CAD;
  • Performing stress analysis of structural components;
  • Performing thermal analysis of components;
  • Preparing manufacturing drawings and documentation, test/qualification plans and procedures, coordinating prototype manufacture and qualification testing, and preparing engineering reports.
  • Superior time management and organizational skills.
  • Superior problem solving skills.
  • Excellent proactive communication and active listening skills.
  • Thrive in a team environment.
  • Must have the ability to be ITAR/Controlled Goods cleared, as well as eligibility for security clearance to \xe2\x80\x9cNATO Secret\xe2\x80\x9d level.
