CO-OP MECHANICAL ENGINEER (8-MONTH)

Site: Kamloops, B.C.
Wage: $26.00 - $27.00 per hour
YOUR ROLE
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Co-op Mechanical Engineer will be focused on a capital projects, reliability of industrial systems and construction management. Applicants must be enrolled in post-secondary education in their 3rd or 4th year Mechanical Engineering.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
u Provide engineering support for pulp manufacturing, renewable power generation and environmental systems.
u Be part of a team that promotes continuous learning, coaching and mentoring
u AutoCAD drafting and design
u Work with the site Mechanical Engineers to plan and prepare documents for mechanical construction and commissioning of ongoing projects.
u Documentation and engineering drawing management for multi-discipline projects. Duties will include liaison with engineering consultants, contractors and vendors.
u Completion of a number of self-managed projects.
YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES
u Team player with strong written and verbal communication skills
u Ability to work across organizational boundaries
u Strong organizational skills
u Self-starter with strong personal initiative and follow-through
u Familiar with AutoCAD skills.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
u Attending post-secondary education - 3rd or 4th year Mechanical Engineering
u Good problem-solving skills
u Strong commitment to safety and quality
u Eligibility to work in Canada
u Access to reliable transportation
Preferred:
u Pulp and Paper experience
u Experience working with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
