Position: Mechanical Engineer

We're seeking a driven and resourceful individual to support the launch of a state-of-the-art maintenance center in Toronto for a year long contract.
This is a unique opportunity to help shape processes from the ground up, working on new equipment with direct support from suppliers. More than specific industry experience, we're looking for someone with strong work ethic, curiosity, and the willingness to learn.

What You'll Do:
- Develop clear work instructions for new equipment implementation
- Define and optimize work methods to enhance quality and efficiency
- Troubleshoot manufacturing issues alongside suppliers and engineers
- This major infrastructure program involves the maintenance of large-scale vehicles and complex mechanical systems
- Compile technical documentation and support cross-functional teams
- Research innovative technical and economic solutions to boost performance
- Champion safety and support workforce engagement on the shop floor
What We're Looking For:
- Mindset over resume: Quick learner, proactive, resourceful
- A strong individual contributor who can coach junior team members
- Comfortable taking initiative, asking questions, and reaching out to suppliers for answers
- Solid industrial or workshop experience (commissioning new machines is a plus)
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and adaptability across shifts or occasional travel
Qualifications:
- College Diploma or bachelor's in mechanical engineering or related field
- 5+ years in an industrial or manufacturing environment
- Strong computer skills (especially Microsoft Office Suite)
- English required; French is an asset
- Experience in a unionized environment an advantage
- Occasional travel within GTA and to Montreal
