AECOM is seeking a Mechanical Engineer(Plumbing) to join our team. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga. We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world. Preferred Requirements:
Major Responsibilities:
Provides expert advice, guidance, and subject matter expertise throughout the planning, design, and implementation of the program, ensuring compliance with all relevant plumbing and utility system codes and standards.
Ensures plumbing and utility systems design and construction meet technical requirements through design reviews, submittal assessments, and testing.
Conducts Facility Alteration Permit (FAP) compliance reviews for all proposed renovations, alterations, maintenance work, and new construction projects.
Delivers non-resident engineering expertise through field inspections at various stages of construction.
Supports the development of governance frameworks and process documentation related to plumbing and utility systems engineering practices.
Evaluates alternative technical proposals submitted by contractors, assessing feasibility and alignment with program requirements.
Manages the technical aspects of the program, setting targets and goals for plumbing and utility systems engineering.
Facilitates coordination between engineering and architectural disciplines to ensure seamless integration across programs, facilities, and assets.
Reviews contractor and designer deliverables to confirm adherence to relevant requirements, codes, and standards.
Monitors the designer's input throughout construction, overseeing RFIs, shop drawings, material approvals, mock-ups, and punch lists.
Provides management-level progress reports and briefings on plumbing and utility systems design, highlighting key developments, challenges, and opportunities.
