Role Overview:
Our client seeks an EIT or experienced mechanical engineer/designer with a minimum of 4-6 years in the Canadian buildings construction realm (mechanical engineering). The role entails conceptualizing and detailing mechanical systems within building projects, coordinating designs, producing working drawings and specifications, project leadership, site visits, and benefitting from substantial support and mentorship.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead and engage in project delivery, project management, contract administration, and on-site reviews for ongoing construction projects
• Uphold exceptional client service throughout project cycles, ensuring robust communication and responsiveness to client feedback
• Participate in limited business development activities with associates, including crafting fee proposals
• Evaluate and report on existing mechanical systems\' conditions
• Offer technical advisory services to clients pertaining to specific mechanical engineering projects
• Undertake diverse project assignments within the realm of mechanical building systems, encompassing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection
• Conduct load calculations through standard heating/cooling load analysis software
• Enhance existing skills, execute engineering projects aligned with client requisites and industry best practices
• Perform internal technical reviews and verification checks on analyses, reports, designs, and related recommendations
• Fulfill additional duties as necessary

Requirements:

• 7 - 10 years of professional experience encompassing HVAC and plumbing systems (experience in fire suppression systems is advantageous)
• Preferably an EIT or registered engineer within an Quebec province
• Mechanical designers with requisite experience will also be considered
• Proficiency in the mechanical engineering environment, including detailed design drawings, tender package specifications, feasibility studies, budget estimates, shop drawing evaluations, commissioning, and condition assessments
• Thorough understanding of building construction and building mechanical systems
• In-depth familiarity with the Building Code and the National Building Code of Canada
