Wood currently has an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer in Training to join our Minerals & Metals (M&M) team. Reporting to the Mechanical Department Manager, this position is located in our Saskatoon, SK office.
The Role
The Mechanical EIT will be trained and apply their knowledge of mechanical engineering principles and practices to Wood's products and services. The mechanical EIT will plan, schedule and conduct technical engineering assignments requiring judgment ,independent evaluation, selection and significant adaptation / deviation from standard techniques and procedures.

Typical Responsibilities
:
Develop, plan, evaluate and recommend solutions for problems under the supervision of senior engineering staff
Prepare proposals, design drawings and calculations, data sheets, specifications and other basis of engineering and design data (BEDD) documentation using standards and/or new methods as required
Review drawings, calculations, specifications and other engineering documentation for compliance with contractual requirements, good engineering practices, codes, and standards
Prepares technical specifications for purchased equipment
Coordinate and interface with equipment suppliers
Prepare technical evaluations of supplier's proposals
Work with and communicate with project management team
Assure the technical quality of work performed by organizational standards, codes and general knowledge of engineering principles and projects
Perform or review engineering and design tasks requiring operation of available computer assisted software
Consult with supervisor and other senior engineering staff concerning unusual problems to develop and apply advanced techniques and methods as required
Assure that all work on assigned projects is timely, accurate and high quality
Perform other related duties as assigned by management
Organize, plan, and coordinate own work.
Set expectations and monitor delegated activities for schedule and budget

Expected:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
0-3 years' of related engineering experience.
Registration as an EIT in Saskatchewan
Excellent written and oral skills
Ability to work and communicate effectively with customers and suppliers
Ability to work with administrative supervision and effectively manage multiple and conflicting priorities
Knowledge and ability to work with 2D and 3D software
Current authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood is required
This position is located in Saskatoon, SK, Canada and is not budgeted for relocation assistance or any type of living allowance. Applicants must live within reasonable commuting distance to the Saskatoon, Saskatchewan office or be willing to relocate at own expense
