The Opportunity
Lauren Services is seeking a
Mechanical Engineer in Training (EIT)
to join our
Kelowna office
. This role will primarily focus on
pipeline systems
, with opportunities to expand into areas such as
rotating equipment, stress analysis, and other specialty disciplines
.
This is a dynamic position for a motivated individual looking to grow their expertise within the midstream and downstream energy sectors.
Key Accountabilities
Develop
conceptual and detailed 3D layouts
and engineering drawings, including
P&IDs
.
Prepare
equipment component lists
, material selections, and vendor RFQ documentation.
Create and maintain
mechanical engineering documents
(lists, datasheets, etc.) for equipment.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to develop design concepts, troubleshoot challenges, and deliver successful project outcomes.
Provide
technical support to field personnel
as required.
Qualifications
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
2-4 years of experience in engineering design and EPC projects within the midstream or downstream oil & gas/industrial sector.
Registered or eligible as an E.I.T. with APEGA or EGBC
.
Familiarity with
codes, standards, and industry practices
, including ASME B31.3, CSA Z662, and API/ASME standards (asset).
Experience with
mechanical equipment, piping, and packaged equipment
is considered an asset.
Knowledge of oil & gas materials and specifications is advantageous.
Skills & Competencies
Exposure to
phase-gated project processes
and procurement practices.
Strong
communication and interpersonal skills
with the ability to collaborate effectively in team environments.
Proficiency in
Microsoft Office
; experience with
Microsoft Project/Primavera P6, SharePoint, and Bluebeam
is an asset.
