About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer III to design and develop innovative medical devices that improve patient care. You will work on early-to-mid stage development of handheld and system-level products, supporting design for manufacturability and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams including electrical, software, manufacturing, and systems. This role involves working with external vendors, reviewing designs, prototyping, and ensuring compliance with medical device standards.
Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop mechanical components and assemblies in collaboration with internal teams and external vendors.
  • Support concept-to-pre-production development, including CAD modeling, prototyping, and design verification.
  • Apply principles of DFM, GD&T, and tolerance stack-up to optimize manufacturability and reliability.
  • Review and validate vendor-provided designs to meet product requirements.
  • Participate in design reviews, risk assessments, and regulatory documentation.
  • Provide technical input for cost estimation, material selection, and product improvements.
  • Support development of intellectual property and maintain engineering documentation per corporate standards.
Qualifications & Must-Haves
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; EIT or P.Eng in any discipline considered, with expectation to obtain P.Eng in mechanical engineering.
  • 5+ years of mechanical design experience; medical device experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in SolidWorks and related add-ins.
  • Hands-on experience with injection molding (insert and over-molding) and small, complex components.
  • Knowledge of ISO 13485, Root Cause Analysis, and Lean Manufacturing.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to explain design decisions clearly, and fit within a collaborative, tight-knit team.
  • Portfolio of previous design work recommended.
