Position: Building Automation Systems Specialist

We are seeking an experienced and driven professional with a minimum of 5 years' experience in BAS/DDC systems to join our team. This role reports directly to the Engineering Manager and offers the opportunity to work on complex and evolving projects.

Key Responsibilities

Develop custom control logic based on project scope and specifications. Commission control systems including HW and DHW systems. Design and customize user-friendly BAS graphics tailored for the end user. Provide client training on the JCI Facility Explorer (FX) platform. Review consultant-issued mechanical drawings to prepare control schematics, sequences of operation, valve and damper schedules, and other project documentation. Perform site visits for inspections, commissioning, and troubleshooting. Program equipment using programmable ladder logic. Coordinate with mechanical contractors to ensure smooth project execution. Provide hands-on support for field installers and commissioning staff.

Required Qualifications

Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Materials Engineering. Minimum 5 years of experience in BAS/DDC design and implementation. Strong understanding of electronic and pneumatic controls and starter circuits. Knowledge of building mechanical systems and electrical control circuits. Proficient in AutoCAD, Visio, Microsoft Office Suite, and networking (e.g., port forwarding). Programming experience with BASIC, C++, or similar languages. Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat is an asset. Valid Ontario driver's license with access to a personal vehicle. Ability to obtain security clearance. Willingness to travel to construction sites across Ontario.
