Job Description

We are currently seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our team and play a vital role in the execution of mechanical project designs. This is a fantastic opportunity for an organized, detail-oriented professional looking to contribute to innovative projects within the Food and Beverage Industry.
Key Responsibilities

  • Design mechanical systems for food and beverage plants, including HVAC, plumbing systems, and process equipment.
  • Recommend and select equipment for heating, cooling, and water treatment systems.
  • Develop design documentation, project plans, and cost estimates.
  • Conduct final inspections of designs and analyze system effectiveness through testing and statistical data.
  • Improve operations, optimize processes, and ensure seamless engineering service delivery.
  • Evaluate and recommend mechanical equipment for client use based on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams, including architectural, civil, structural, electrical, and process disciplines, to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Provide technical guidance and coaching to junior engineers and technologists.
  • Ensure compliance with local, national, and international engineering standards and legislation.
Essential Skills and Qualifications
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in good standing with Professional Engineers Ontario.
  • Proficient knowledge of Ontario Building and Fire Codes, CFIA, ASHRAE, NFPA, OSHA, TSSA, and CSA standards.
  • Expertise in ammonia and halocarbon refrigeration systems.
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Office applications and related design software.
  • Proven ability to manage project budgets and evaluate key financial performance indicators.
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and team collaboration skills.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in the food or pharmaceutical industries.
  • Consulting experience is considered an asset.
