POSITION OVERVIEW

We're currently searching for a highly skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team to support the design, analysis, and development of industrial mechanical systems and equipment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for mechanical layout design, 3D modeling, and performing thermal and structural analyses to ensure safe, reliable, and manufacturable products.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Mechanical Design & Layout

Develop mechanical layouts for assemblies, enclosures, frames, and mechanical systems Optimize component placement for thermal performance, structural integrity, serviceability, and manufacturability Coordinate mechanical designs with electrical and system engineering teams

3D Modeling & CAD

Create and maintain detailed 3D models and 2D drawings using

Autodesk Inventor

Prepare manufacturing drawings, assemblies, BOMs, and tolerance stack-ups Support design revisions, Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and prototype development

Thermal / Temperature Analysis

Perform thermal analysis of mechanical assemblies and enclosures to evaluate heat generation and dissipation Support cooling and ventilation design to maintain components within allowable temperature limits Validate thermal performance under various operating conditions

Structural / Stress Analysis

Conduct structural and stress analysis on mechanical structures and enclosures Evaluate designs for mechanical loads including static, dynamic, transportation, and vibration conditions Ensure designs meet applicable mechanical and safety standards

Documentation & Collaboration

Prepare technical documentation, analysis reports, and design justifications Participate in design reviews and cross-functional engineering meetings Support manufacturing and quality teams during production and testingngs for completeness, accuracy, and adherence to specifications. Provide technical support and guidance to junior team members as needed.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field 3+ years of experience in mechanical design for industrial or electromechanical products Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor Experience with thermal analysis and stress / FEA analysis tools Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes

SYSTEMS & SKILLS

Experience with industrial enclosures or power equipment Familiarity with applicable codes and standards Experience with simulation tools (thermal, CFD, or FEA) Hands-on experience supporting prototypes and production builds Ability to work independently and around obstacles, with effective problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Ability to work in a diverse and inclusive space Self-motivated and a team player Strong communication skills

LOCATION

Innoversa has office space in Concord, Ontario. We offer hybrid employment that supports a blend of in-office and remote work (minimum 3 days in office). With this role, there may be travel within North America.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Working conditions are normal for a professional office environment. Working in customers laboratory and field activities are include in this role and when working in a field or lab environment, protective personal equipment or additional safety training may be required. The role may require the ability to lift and carry equipment up to 50 pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions. Ability to sit, stand, kneel, and bend is required. The role requires some overnight local and regional travel including once or twice per month job sites visits for project work with customers.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
