Description du poste
Relevant du chef Methodes & Outillage Special, l'ingenieur en conception d'outillage participe a la conception d'outils d'installation, d'usinage, de demontage, de manutention et de levage. Il contribue egalement a la conception d'outils specialises lies a des projets majeurs recents ou en cours de soumission.
Responsabilites

• Analyser les informations techniques (specifications, portee, division du travail)
• Concevoir l'outillage special pour l'assemblage sur site, en respectant la planification, le budget et les normes EHS
• Planifier la phase de conception, assurer le suivi et la coordination avec l'equipe projet
• Participer aux revues de conception et assurer la coherence avec les methodes d'installation
• Optimiser les outils pour reduire le temps d'installation
• Preparer et superviser les dessins techniques
• Rediger des rapports, procedures de test, notes d'ingenierie, manuels de maintenance
• Soutenir la chaine d'approvisionnement et les equipes sur site
• Valider les couts des procedures et outils en phase d'appel d'offres
• Etre responsable des livrables et du budget de ses projets

Competences cles

• Conception mecanique, outillage, ingenierie, modelisation 3D (NX)
• Ingenieur (P.Eng. ou Ing.) membre ou en voie d'adhesion a une association canadienne
• Connaissance intermediaire de SmartSheet et Excel
• Capacite a aller chercher l'information activement aupres des autres equipes

Qualifications requises

• Baccalaureat en genie mecanique (ou civil/structure avec experience pertinente)
• Experience en environnement industriel lourd (mines, machinerie lourde, convoyeurs industriels)
• Experience terrain ou en fabrication (pas uniquement en modelisation)
• 3 a 5 ans ou 5 a 10 ans d'experience pertinente
• Maitrise d'un logiciel de modelisation 3D (NX un atout)

• Connaissances en electricite
• Experience en ingenierie de terrain
• Competences en mesure laser
• Connaissances en soudage et usinage

Special Tooling Design Engineer
? Location: Brossard | ?? Travel: 10% within North America

Reporting to the Methods & Special Tooling Leader, the tooling design engineer is involved in the design of installation, machining, dismantling, handling, and lifting tools. They also contribute to the development of specialized tools for major recent or upcoming projects.
Responsibilities

• Analyze technical documentation (specs, scope, work breakdown)
• Design special tooling for site assembly, aligned with planning, budget, and EHS standards
• Plan and coordinate the tooling design phase with project teams
• Participate in design reviews and ensure alignment with installation methods
• Optimize tooling and machinery to reduce installation time
• Prepare and oversee technical drawings
• Write reports, test procedures, engineering notes, and maintenance manuals
• Provide technical support to supply chain and site teams
• Validate tooling and procedure costing during tendering phase
• Own project deliverables and budgets

Key Skills

• Tooling design, mechanical engineering, 3D modeling (NX), P.Eng./Ing. certification
• Intermediate SmartSheet and Excel skills
• Proactive in gathering information across teams

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering (Civil/Structural considered with relevant experience)
• Experience in heavy industrial environments (mining, heavy machinery, industrial conveyors)
• Hands-on manufacturing experience (not just desk/modeling work)
• 3-5 years or 5-10 years of relevant experience
• Experience with 3D modeling software (NX preferred)

• Hydro-electric project experience
• Electrical knowledge
• Field engineering experience
• Laser measurement skills
• French language skills
• Welding and machining knowledge

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $64.00/hr.
