Job Description

Purpose of Position:

To provide critical engineering expertise in the design, development, optimization, and implementation of advanced robotic systems used in food packaging.

This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical design principles, manufacturing processes, and automation to drive innovation, improve efficiency, and ensure high-quality production.

Key Accountabilities:



Design, develop, and test mechanical components and subsystems for food packaging robotics, ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards. Utilize 3D modeling (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, PTC Creo-4.0) and perform FEA analysis (ANSYS, SolidWorks Simulation) to optimize designs. Develop and maintain engineering documentation including BOMs, detailed drawings with GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, and technical specifications. Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective actions to address mechanical failures and optimize system performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams including electrical, software, manufacturing, and procurement teams to integrate mechanical designs into complex robotic systems. Lead continuous improvement initiatives focusing on Lean Manufacturing, DFMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly), DFMEA, and Value Engineering (VA/VE). Participate in new product development (NPD) and Value Analysis/Value Engineering (VAVE) projects to improve performance and reduce production costs. Support manufacturing by troubleshooting design-related issues and providing solutions to improve production efficiency. Conduct field testing, validation, and performance evaluations of robotic systems and provide technical training to operators and service teams. Stay up to date on industry trends, materials, and manufacturing processes to drive innovation in mechanical design and automation. Travel to customer sites (as required) to provide technical support, commissioning, and training

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $85,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
