Job Description



Reporting directly to the Mechanical Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Engineer will be working with a team of professional, dynamic, and talented designers. Must possess a thorough knowledge and working background in automation manufacturing, with excellent design and communication skills.
Based on the project, you will be working in a team or independently on a project. They should be well organized, detail-oriented, a self-starter, a self-motivator, team player, and able to resolve issues, as well as manage time and prepare documents accurately.

Role and Responsibilities



Mechanical Design of large and technically complex automation equipment FE Analysis (Ansys, Inventor) Actuator, Motor and Servo sizing Pneumatic circuit design and calculations Simulations Specific knowledge in automation of press automation (Feeders, Transfer Systems, Tooling etc.) is an asset. Delegate duties and coordinate the design process for a team of internal designers and external contractors as required. Communicate project concerns, project status, and design solutions with management, fellow staff, and clients. In coordination with Project Management, participates in presentations of the design to the client, and acquires client signoff on the design concept to proceed with detailing and manufacturing. Works cooperatively with clients, fellow employees, contractors, management, and suppliers. Create and maintain efficiency in the design process. Works in conjunction with the other members of the team, such as the electrical designer and the mechanical assembler/developer during all stages of machine design/build Create mechanical designs that are economical to produce, easy to assemble and simply maintained. Assists other designers with the mechanical design of larger systems. Review of all required part drawings, and machine build drawings (drafting) as required. Generates Bill of Materials (BOM) for both purchased parts and raw manufactured materials as required. Manages all assigned tasks in a neat and timely fashion while striving to maintain budgeted hours.

Qualifications and Education Requirements



Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience Proficiency with computer software programs; Microsoft products, AutoCAD, Solidworks, Ansys, Inventor Ability to perform FEA Ability to size components, motors, servos etc. Automation experience preferred Strong organizational skills and communication skills Ability to work independently, multi-task and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines Demonstrate time management skills Design experience with 2D & 3D CAD design an asset Experience in robotic simulation and robotic solutions Uses logic and reasoning to offer solutions to problems

Pay: $71,701.67-$120,000.00 per year
