As a student at PCL, you will get the opportunity for challenging work assignments in a supportive work environment which promotes personal and professional growth.We are seeking a Mechanical & Electrical Estimating Studentfor our Toronto District in Oakville, Ontario within our Canadian Buildings Division that is available for a minimum of 4 months starting in May 5th, 2025.Herexe2x80x99s how a Mechanical & Electrical Estimating Student at our Toronto office contributes to the team:ResponsibilitiesUnderstand and utilize PCLxe2x80x99s estimating manuals, systems and forms.Review quantity survey assignment with lead estimator or Chief Estimator.Gets the chance to perform assigned quantity survey and transfer quantities to the lead estimator.Provides quantities of major purchase items to purchasing department for pricing.Creates an impact by performing general subtrade solicitation duties and helping with bid document control.Has the opportunity to perform bid day assignments.Experiences visiting the job sites periodically.Develops relationships with subcontractors.Performs other duties as required.QualificationsCandidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.Next Step:xc2xb7 Please note that candidates who have been selected to move forward to the next stage of the recruitment process will receive an email to complete a short online video interviewPCL is an innovative, employee-owned company comprised of people who find passion in their profession and take pride in doing great work every day.
