Our company is a Fabrication Specialist for the energy sector and specializes in the custom manufacturing of surface production equipment. Our Medicine Hat facility consists of over 21,000 square feet, 10 overhead cranes, and a 420 square foot heat treat oven.

About this Opportunity:

Our company currently has a career opportunity available for a Mechanical Drafter at our Medicine Hat location.

Reporting to the Drafting Lead, this individual will grow their practical expertise in the drafting of energy process equipment. The successful applicant will be responsible for autonomously developing from inception to construction a fully realized process package.

Job description:

Developing and updating design drawings for proposed or current projects.

Operating computer assisted design software - AutoCad and Solidworks.

Package design - providing complete fabrications drawings and ensuring that all work done on the shop floor is in accordance with company and industry standards.

Piping design - modeling & drawing piping and equipment layout and details.

Frequently coordinating with Estimating, QC and Project Management regarding all ongoing projects.

Working independently and as a team member.

Attending work on-site is preferred.

Requirements:

Preference to 2+ years of experience in the design and drafting of pressure equipment

Diploma from a recognized Engineering Design and Drafting Technology program.

Strong time management skills and ability to prioritize job tasks under pressure.

Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work alone and as part of a team.

Critical thinking, open mindedness, and willingness to embrace change.

Eager to give and receive constructive feedback from tradespeople and technical professionals
