We are seeking an experienced and motivated Intermediate Mechanical Designer to join our team. This role offers the opportunity to take on a leadership position in the design and delivery of mechanical systems for a wide range of projects. The successful candidate will act as both Project Lead and Technical Lead, ensuring high-quality design solutions while managing projects from concept through completion.

Your Roles



Project Management & Design:



- Work within our mechanical and electrical team to deliver great service to our clients;

- Design of building mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and sprinkler systems; collaborate with the engineers and designers in the office and with architects, other consultants, owners, and contractors on building designs;

- Manage projects throughout the design phase, collaborations with design, production and construction phase project team members;

- Produce construction documentation using REVIT and our related design programs, coordinate design with other disciplines;

- Evaluate building heating and cooling loads, energy modeling, size and select equipment;

- Manage projects throughout construction in conjunction with our construction administration team, including but not limited to, review shop drawings, attend meetings, and issue contract amendment documentation;

- Preparation and review of reports, budgets, analysis, proposal;

- Coordinate with other design disciplines and project partners;

- Create, maintain and edit specification documents;

Learning & Development:



- Actively participating in professional associations and committees

- Staying current with industry trends and advancements by attending educational workshops and fostering personal networks.

- Playing an integral role in advancing technical and professional leadership within our firm.

Qualifications: Your Path to Success:



- Minimum of 6-12 years of experience designing mechanical systems for buildings.

- Demonstrated ability to work within a team in a collaborative environment.

- Ability to apply critical thinking and reasoning to decision making process;

- Ability to effectively communicate and work as part of a team is essential;

- An understanding of Canadian commercial construction methods and design processes;

- Desire to develop skills and expand career;

- Candidate must have extremely strong general computer skills and must be able to learn new programs quickly;

- Candidate must be self-motivated and be able to manage multiple priorities;

- Demonstrated experience with office software such as MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, etc.);

- Possession of a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from a recognized Canadian (or equal) university, Registration with APEGM as a P.Eng.

- Registered as a C.E.T or C.Tech with Certified Technicians and Technologists Association of Manitoba (CTTAM) would be preferred

The following qualifications and skills would be considered an asset:



Experience with Autodesk Revit; Hands-on field experience in the construction industry. Experience with design and modeling software such as Carrier HAP, Trane Trace, Energy Plus
