Mechanical Designer
Job Description
The R&D group in Vancouver is developing a novel form of projection that enables High Dynamic Range (HDR) on the big screen. We also serve as an incubator within Barco, pursuing new opportunities that make business and technology sense. We\'re looking for engineers with mechanical design and manufacturing experience, good ideas, and DFAA thinking to join our automated manufacturing R&D group.
The candidate will be expected to play various roles:
- Work with optical and automation engineers to concurrently develop product and manufacturing strategy
- Establish and document DFAA rules and best practices for product development teams
- Help design automated alignment, assembly, and QC systems for our next gen products
We\'re interested in candidates with a variety of skills and experience
- Product development through the manufacturing stage
- Mechanical design of parts / assemblies for a variety of manufacturing processes
- Experience working with suppliers to optimize part designs
- Designing manufacturing jigs and fixtures
- Basic understanding of optics
- Mechatronics
Candidates should have a degree in Engineering or related field, and at least three years relevant experience.
