Job Description


itec group is seeking a skilled and creative Mechanical Designer to join our client\'s team. As a Mechanical Designer, you will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and developing mechanical components, systems, and products. You will work closely with engineers, project managers, and other stakeholders to ensure that designs meet functional requirements, quality standards, and project timelines.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop mechanical components and systems:

  • Create detailed designs, models, and engineering drawings using CAD software.
  • Conduct thorough analysis and calculations to ensure designs meet technical specifications and performance requirements.
  • Develop innovative and practical solutions while considering factors such as cost, manufacturability, and ease of assembly.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams:
  • Work closely with engineers, project managers, and other team members to understand project requirements, objectives, and constraints.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide input on technical feasibility, functionality, and manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as manufacturing and procurement, to ensure effective coordination and implementation of designs.
Ensure adherence to quality standards and regulations:
  • Perform design verification and validation activities to ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulations.
  • Conduct tolerance analysis and implement design changes as needed to optimize performance and manufacturability.
  • Review and interpret technical specifications, codes, and standards to ensure designs meet safety, performance, and quality requirements.
Documentation and technical support:
  • Prepare detailed design documentation, including drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and technical reports.
  • Provide technical support during the manufacturing, assembly, and testing phases to address design-related issues and ensure smooth production processes.
  • Collaborate with technical writers to create user manuals, installation guides, and other documentation as required.
Stay updated on industry trends and advancements:
  • Keep abreast of the latest developments in mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing technologies.
  • Continuously improve your technical skills and knowledge through professional development opportunities, training programs, and self-study.
Requirements:
  • College diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Mechanical Designer or similar role, with a focus on product design and development.
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar tools.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, manufacturing processes, and assembly techniques.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to mechanical design and product development.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think critically and analytically.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey technical concepts to a diverse audience.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
