Job Summary:

The Conveyor Mechanical Designer will be responsible for designing and developing conveyor systems that enhance operational efficiency and meet the needs of our clients. This role involves working closely with engineering, production, and project management teams to create reliable and effective conveyor solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Development:

Create detailed mechanical designs for conveyor systems, including layout, components, and assemblies using CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD).

Specification & Selection:

Define technical specifications for conveyor components and select appropriate materials, drives, motors, and other system elements.

Prototyping & Testing:

Oversee the prototyping and testing phases to ensure designs meet performance, safety, and reliability standards.

Project Management:

Collaborate with project managers to ensure timely delivery of designs and address any issues that arise during implementation.

Cost Estimation:

Prepare cost estimates and budgets for conveyor systems, including materials, labor, and manufacturing costs.

Compliance & Standards:

Ensure designs comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.

Documentation:

Prepare detailed documentation including design specifications, user manuals, maintenance guides, and other technical documents.

Client Interaction:

Communicate with clients to understand their needs and provide design solutions that align with their operational requirements.

Continuous Improvement:

Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve design practices and conveyor system performance.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or a related field.

Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in mechanical design, preferably with a focus on conveyor systems or material handling equipment.

Technical Skills:

Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD), knowledge of conveyor system components, and experience with mechanical design principles.

Problem-Solving:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address complex design challenges.

Communication:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present ideas and solutions effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Teamwork:

Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certifications:

Professional Engineer (PE) license or other relevant certifications.

Experience:

Experience with automated conveyor systems and integration with other automation technologies.

Software Knowledge:

Familiarity with additional design software or simulation tools.

Pay: $65,000.00-$125,000.00 per year
