We are currently seeking a

Mechanical Design Engineer

Position Summary



As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will play a key role in transforming customer needs and market insights into manufacturable, high-performance designs. Working closely with cross-functional teams--including engineering, manufacturing, and quality--you will develop, test, and optimize mechanical components and systems, ensuring alignment with company standards and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities



Converting customer and marketing needs into product designs. Obtain consultation information from colleagues on potential designs. Provide shop floor employees with accurate and timely mechanical information. Generate approval drawings for customers. Perform mechanical stress loadings and stress calculations. Perform thermal calculations on transformer designs. Incorporate quality and reliability into designs. Develop inspection and test plans, bills of material, mechanical parameters. Convey mechanical and electrical parameters by means of drawings, and inspection specifications and test specifications. Conduct peer review of designs for manufacturability and accuracy. Implement and use Automated Design Techniques where applicable, SolidWorks automation. Decide on the location of parts and components of designs. Decide on the structure of information for manufacturing designs. Design for manufacturability using top-down assembly methods. Obtain clarification of design requirements from the Engineering Manager. Use Excel/SolidWorks for bill of material entry and structure.

Qualifications



Degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design Technology, or a related field. Proficiency in SolidWorks and Excel; experience with automation tools is a strong asset. Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, including stress analysis and thermal modeling. Knowledge of transformer design is a significant advantage. Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Pay: $65,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
