Checkout what we do at www.vandorensales.com. Van Doren Sales North Inc. is seeking a self-motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team based in Kelowna, BC. The position requires the ability to prioritize tasks while handling multiple projects, along with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical staff. The applicant must have a high attention to detail and a strong willingness to learn company standards and procedures. This is a unique opportunity to build and apply a diverse skill set in a growing company. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to grow and expand their role to include design improvements and new equipment design. General Description
- Interpret 2D layout and sales specifications to design equipment in SolidWorks based on standard company designs
- Prepare and deliver drawings for in-house and out-of-house manufacturing, adhering to company and industry standards
- Assist in other engineering related tasks as required
- Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma (or similar)
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- 2+ years of experience working as a mechanical engineer
- 2+ years of 3D design experience in SolidWorks, with proficiency in sheet metal, part, assembly and drawing, features and tools
- Experience using SolidWorks PDM
- Good working knowledge of fabrication and welding processes
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong desire for continuous improvement
- Experience in the produce packaging and processing industry
- Hands-on mechanical and manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of standards \xe2\x80\x93 ASME, CSA, AWS, OSHA
- Experience in automation and controls
- Bulk and unit handling equipment design experience
- Pneumatic and hydraulic design experience
- Finite Element Analysis experience
- Experience with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances
- Extended health care
