Checkout what we do at www.vandorensales.com. Van Doren Sales North Inc. is seeking a self-motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our team based in Kelowna, BC. The position requires the ability to prioritize tasks while handling multiple projects, along with the ability to effectively communicate with technical and non-technical staff. The applicant must have a high attention to detail and a strong willingness to learn company standards and procedures. This is a unique opportunity to build and apply a diverse skill set in a growing company. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to grow and expand their role to include design improvements and new equipment design. General Description
- Support the sales team with layout design for packing lines, conveyance, and material handling solutions.
- Create drawings for Contractors to use for bidding purpose ( ie building & electrical).
- Sold Phase - create detailed layout with elevation views, motor information, and specifications as per the sales contract. Create drawings for sub-contractors and vendors.
- Support the sales, project management, and production teams through to the end of project with critical information and communications.
- Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma (or similar)
- Canadian citizen or permanent resident
- 2+ years of experience working as a mechanical engineer or designer
- 2+ years of AutoCAD experience with proficiency in Layer, Block, and Revision management. 3D design experience in SolidWorks is an asset.
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- High attention to detail and strong desire for continuous improvement
- Experience in the produce packaging and processing industry
- Hands-on mechanical and manufacturing experience
- Knowledge of standards \xe2\x80\x93 ASME, CSA, AWS, OSHA
- Experience in automation and controls
- Bulk and unit handling equipment design experience
- Pneumatic and hydraulic design experience
