Position Summary

We are seeking a

Mechanical Designer - HVAC

to join our

Design

team. This role plays a critical part in supporting the design and manufacturing of custom HVAC air handling units, with a focus on coil runs, ductwork, and system integration. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in HVAC design and a strong focus on precision, collaboration, and manufacturability.

Key Responsibilities

Design and draft detailed HVAC system layouts, including coil runs, fan sections, duct transitions, and equipment connections Collaborate with Sales Engineers and project teams to develop accurate models for custom air handling units Interpret engineering specifications and industry standards (ASHRAE, AMCA, SMACNA) to ensure compliance Prepare detailed design drawings, bills of material, and project documentation Coordinate and track all phases of the project lifecycle--from submittals and revisions to final delivery Provide technical support to internal teams, manufacturing, and external clients throughout the project Ensure designs are optimized for manufacturability, energy efficiency, and client-specific requirements Maintain thorough and organized project files while meeting deadlines and quality standards

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology or related field 2-5 years of experience in HVAC equipment design, drafting, or mechanical layout (manufacturing environment preferred) Proficient in AutoCAD Level II or higher Strong knowledge of HVAC system components, coil design/runs, fan/blower applications, and motor-driven equipment Proven ability to manage multiple projects and work independently in a fast-paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused approach Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, PDF editors, etc.) Highly organized, detail-oriented, and quality-driven
