Job Description

Engage in new product development activities that are in line with the company's strategy.
Existing product line improvements, developments
Create engineering designs of mechanical assemblies using SolidWorks software.
Utilizing SolidWorks for detailed sheet metal and machine design and generating drawings
Prepare technical drawings of components and assemblies.
Testing prototypes and making changes to improve features and performance
Specify and evaluate product for reliability requirements through testing for application and in various environment conditions such as shock, vibration and temperature
Perform initial and ongoing design and technical reviews.
Liaising with suppliers to ensure parts meet specifications and arrive on time
Reporting to the Manager on all aspects of product development and support
Managing drawing database, technical reviews
Other engineering related activities as required.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

Mechanical Engineering degree Canadian or equivalent engineering degree
Minimum 5 years of related engineering experience.
Possess creativity for product development and proven experience with prototyping
Well-developed skills in mechanical design, 3d CAD/drafting Solidworks
Computer knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Extensive knowledge of metal fabrication, laser and press brakes machines and software
General knowledge of various materials
Good understanding of diesel and natural gas engines is an asset.
Work well under pressure and under tight timelines.
High level of organizational skills, detail oriented, and analytical.
Must possess excellent communication skills to collaborate with customers and vendors
An energetic, diligent work ethic and able to work with little supervision.
Must have valid driver's licence.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $75,662.91-$97,874.49 per year
