Job Title: Mechanical Designer

We are seeking a talented Mechanical Designer to join our team, focusing on the development of new products within our EPC client's PowerVue Power & Drives division. This role is pivotal in designing sheet steel enclosures and configuring electrical equipment. It offers a flexible, contract-to-hire opportunity with the potential for permanent conversion and hybrid work arrangements.
Responsibilities

• Design sheet steel enclosures for electrical equipment.
• Use CAD software to develop precise mechanical designs.
• Collaborate on new product development projects, ensuring efficient design workflows.
• Manage multiple tasks effectively while adhering to project deadlines.
• Communicate design ideas clearly to team members and stakeholders.
• Adapt work hours and location as needed to meet project deliverables.

Essential Skills

• 3-5 years of experience in mechanical design; 8-10 years preferred.
• Proficiency in CAD design software, ideally with advanced proficiency in SolidWorks.
• Strong understanding of electrical systems, preferably with hands-on experience.
• Experience in sheet steel and enclosure design.
• Familiarity with Vault Pro and collaborative design workflows.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in panel design, placing electrical components inside cabinets.
• Background in product development, focusing on new products.
• Knowledge of electrical calculations and component selection.
• Field experience with electrical or mechanical systems.
• Portfolio or design samples showcasing past work.
• Understanding of design for manufacturability (DFM) principles.

Work Environment
The position is based in an office near the airport working core hours, with flexibility to work a hybrid model form home as needed. The team offers a dynamic and supportive culture, with opportunities for long-term growth and conversion to a permanent role.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
