Role and Responsibilities:
Design enclosures for and support mass production of our suite of charging products
You must be passionate in developing creative solutions for the EV industry
Design sleek, eye catching, unique, cost effective, and simple physical designs for our EV charging products
Work across the organisation (marketing, product management, software, hardware, etc) to understand needs and get feedback on designs
Work closely with our manufacturing partners on DFM through to production support
Always be looking for ways to improve our existing products as well as on our competitor's ideas
Proactively monitors industry trends and identifies opportunities to implement new technologies
Support our sales & installation teams with product adjustments and site planning
Requirements:
5-8 years of relevant work experience
Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Design or a related field
Self-directed and takes ownership of their work including all aspects of a design or issue, Identifies and solves problems before they become problems
Detail oriented but comfortable starting work with incomplete information
4+ years of mechanical CAD experience, Solidworks preferred
Experience with a wide array of production processes across a variety of materials (plastic, metal, glass, fibreglass, etc)
Experience bringing multiple products from idea to mass production
Experienced with rapid iteration
PLM/PDM system setup & maintenance
Hands-on experience with rapid prototyping methods & equipment
Hands-on experience making models and mock-ups of concepts
Experience working in a startup environment considered an asset
Experience developing electrical or electronic products as part of a multidisciplinary team
Experience making infrastructure drawings with cross sectional trench fill schedules
