Job Description

We are seeking a skilled professional with expertise in transformer design and electrical engineering. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development and optimization of oil-filled distribution and power transformers, ensuring compliance with industry standards and customer specifications.
Key Responsibilities

• Design single and three-phase oil-filled distribution transformers (up to 3MVA, 34.5kV) and power transformers (up to 15MVA, 69kV) in accordance with CSA/IEEE standards and customer requirements.
• Develop transformer core and winding configurations, including wound and stacked core designs.
• Maintain and manage a database of conductor and insulating materials for warehouse inventory.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to analyze and enhance existing transformer products.
• Prepare engineering deliverables and time-based schedules to support project planning and budget control.
• Maintain and update project scope documentation throughout the design lifecycle.
• Review and implement electrical and layout design criteria.
• Evaluate technical deliverables such as specifications, datasheets, and drawings.
• Assist in the development of project-specific engineering procedures.
• Define system requirements to meet project objectives and monitor their effectiveness.
• Represent the electrical engineering discipline in project coordination meetings.
• Participate in design reviews and transformer testing, including routine and special tests.
• Ensure all electrical engineering work complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) and relevant safety standards.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $58.00/hr.
