Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our innovative team. The ideal candidate will be experienced in product design and advanced manufacturing.
The role requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles, an analytical mindset and hands-on practical skills to create technical drawings, conduct simulations, build prototypes and develop assembly processes and tools.
The role will involve collaboration with team members to design electro-mechanical systems and lightweight water-tight structures, solve technical challenges and optimise assemblies for cost, weight and ease of manufacturing.
Duties
Build 3D packaging concepts and detailed designs using CAD software.
Create and analyze engineering drawings for new product designs and high precision components and assemblies.
Design, visualize and prototype assembly processes and tooling.
Develop and assess manufacturing processes according to lean principles.
Conduct geometric design and tolerance analysis of parts and assemblies.
Build models and conduct simulations using Finite Element Analysis.
Perform assembly, testing and troubleshooting of prototypes to ensure functionality and reliability.
Design and build custom test apparatus and measurement equipment.
Essential Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2-3 years of experience designing complex consumer products or series manufactured industrial products.
Experience working in a product manufacturing environment developing processes or launching new products.
Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles such as static and dynamic mechanics, thermodynamics and electromagnetics.
Expert in 3D CAD solid modelling, technical drawings and GD&T.
Proficiency in building and interpreting Finite Element Analysis.
Excellent problem-solving, creativity, tenacity and attention to detail.
Ability to effectively share knowledge and collaborate with team members to solve complex multidisciplinary problems.

Qualifications
Automotive industry experience at OEM or supplier level.
Working knowledge and experience designing electric machines, transmissions and electric powertrains.
Lean manufacturing Kaizen and Design for Assembly (DFA) expertise.
Experience in supply chain management, APQP and PPAP.
