As POW Engineering continues to grow, we need to add talent to our base of outstanding professionals. We are always accepting resumes throughout the year and will find a spot for the right candidate, however sometimes we are actively seeking candidates to fill specific roles. We have in-house structural, mechanical, welding, controls, and civil engineering disciplines. We also have in house welding, machining, and fabrication. We will look to puzzle in the right candidates or fill positions whether it is full time, or a co-op.

Mechanical Design Engineer

The Designer will assist and perform design, documentation, procurement, fabrication, and installation of custom equipment.

Experience in designing material handling equipment for automotive production is an asset but not required. (Lift Assists, Automated Equipment, Conveyance Lines, Overhead Steel Support, Ergonomic Assists, etc)

Range of Responsibilities: Involved from Conception to Completion.

You will work independently or in teams with Engineers and Designers on the following:

Create concepts and layouts for new and existing equipment Prepare design and fabrication drawings in 3D Procure parts and materials Assemble, evaluate, and improve equipment Support installations Work directly with the client and team members troubleshooting as required Recommend and perform equipment corrections and adjustments Attend buyoff and other meetings with clients Manage projects as required Prepare documentation packages Occasional travel to the United States Additional responsibilities as required.

Skills

Graduate of mechanical engineering Self-starter with a high level of initiative Strong attention to detail Ability to work well with all types of people including fellow designers, shop floor workers, clients, suppliers, and colleagues Excellent problem solving and critical thinking skills Able to work efficiently and produce immediate results with minimal supervision Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and visualization skills Experience with 3D CAD Modeling, i.e. Solidworks Manufacturing and design experience desired
