THE ROLE
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Contract Administrator to join the firm's Buildings Engineering team. The successful candidate will oversee the construction administration phase of mechanical projects--ensuring design intent is maintained, quality standards are met, and client expectations are exceeded. This role offers the flexibility of a hybrid or remote work model and the chance to collaborate with a talented, multidisciplinary team. Key Responsibilities
Administer and manage mechanical contracts during construction for building projects across Ontario.
Review shop drawings, RFIs, and change orders to ensure alignment with design intent and project specifications.
Conduct site reviews, prepare field reports, and verify installation quality and compliance.
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and design teams to resolve technical and coordination issues.
Participate in project meetings, providing technical input and progress updates.
Maintain accurate project documentation, correspondence, and records.
Support the project team with commissioning and closeout activities.
Ensure adherence to project schedules, budgets, and safety requirements. Qualifications
Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering or related from within Canada
3 to 10 years of experience in mechanical systems for buildings, with a focus on construction administration or site review.
Strong understanding of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
Solid knowledge of the Ontario Building Code, ASHRAE standards, and related construction practices.
Experience doing CA for a variety of projects across different sectors, including some larger project work
Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Solid experience working with consultants, architects, and contractors.
P.Eng. or C.E.T. designation preferred (eligibility for registration long term is required).
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to project sites as required (some overnight stays required) Why Join This Firm
