Job Description

The Nishnawbe Aski Police Service requires one (1) Mechanic based in Thunder Bay, ON to serve the Central, North West, and North East Regions. This full-time position will work Monday - Friday, 8 hour per day, 40 hours per week, between 0800 - 1700.

Position Summary

This position is responsible to perform preventative maintenance, equipment/systems installation and removal, and repairs for the NAPS vehicle fleet, scheduling and prioritizing work. Negotiation and purchase of new vehicles and equipment and sale of surplus vehicle and equipment inventory. This position will require travel to remote communities. The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel by all modes of transportation as needed.

Qualifications

Must possess and maintain a valid Ontario Class G Driver's License; Must possess and maintain a valid Ontario Class A Driver's Licence to transport police service vehicles and equipment to various locations on a flat deck trailer; Must possess and maintain Automotive Service Technician License; Must be able to pass a background security investigation; Own tools and garage are considered an asset.
