The Mechanic Supervisor's responsibility is to ensure electrical plant and equipment at all rig sites, Base and Camp are being operated and maintained to an acceptable OEM, industry/regulatory standard.
INTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS
Field Superintendents, Rig Managers and Electrician Supervisor.
EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS
Oxy Drill Site Managers (when applicable)
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Review preventative maintenance reporting to ensure scheduled completion and make recommendations on findings when required.
Assist with the preparation of new PMS packages when required.
Provide instruction, coaching and supervision to rig site and base electricians.
Appraise rig site and base electricians by means of Ensign's procedures and documented appraisal forms.
Report on rig and base site plant and equipment suitability and condition.
Ensure rig and base site plant and equipment is being maintained and operated within the OEM's acceptable parameters and meets industry/regulatory standards.
Provide recommendations to enhance operational performance by means of plant and equipment selection, operating parameters or maintenance procedures.
Provide technical input where plant and equipment is being repaired, re-furbished or replaced.
Establish correctly isolating procedures for the safe maintenance of plant and equipment and ensuring that all relevant personnel are aware of these practices and procedures.
Report directly to the Field Superintendent on all aspects of mechanical related issues and maintains a visible commitment towards safety.
Participate in the PEM Group meetings when available.
Undertake other assignments as directed by the Field Superintendent.
TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES
The Mechanic Supervisor shall be certified or trade qualified to perform mechanical repairs and installations. He is specifically authorized by the company to STOP any unsafe activity at his place of work regardless of who is involved in such activity.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Must have a minimum of 5 years similar experience in the oil and gas industry.
Academic Degree is required.
Proficient in English.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
The employee may be directed to perform other duties outside those already described in this position description. This includes carrying out rig housekeeping tasks at the well site/Ensign Base or, when the rig is undergoing maintenance, as directed by the Rig Manager.
The employee will not be asked to perform duties that their supervisor believes they are not qualified for, or duties that may compromise the safety of the employee, their team, or any other persons involved with the operation.
