REPORTS TO: Maintenance Supervisor

JOB PURPOSE:

The Coach Technician will be required to maintain and service the various types of vehicles that operate in Coach Canada. This position is responsible for ensuring that all work adheres to Ministry of Transportation legislated requirements. The Coach Technician must have a mechanical license 310T as well as a valid Ontario Driver\xe2\x80\x99s License (BZ) and have experience in Detroit and Cummins diesel engine repair, drivetrains, brake systems, brake retarders, suspension/steering, electrical/electronic systems, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, wheelchair lifts and ramps.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Thorough knowledge of all applicable motor vehicle legislation, safety regulations, WHMIS and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
• Ability to read and interpret various technical manuals.
• Ability to diagnose vehicle malfunctions and identify deficiencies in vehicle components, performance or quality of repair, service or preventative maintenance work performance
• Working knowledge of transit equipment including electronic fareboxes, destination signs, communication equipment and GPS technology
• Ability to work flexible hours and work well under pressure.
• Ability to work with a minimum of supervision.
• Posses organizational skills to set priorities and meet required deadlines
• Ability to respond to emergency calls.
• Will be required to attend courses to upgrade skill levels in computers, maintenance, first aid, WHIMS and other courses as defined by the Company.
• Must be knowledgeable of the operation and servicing of the Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) equipment installed in the vehicles
• Computer proficiency in Lotus Notes, the Internet and the AS400.
• Must work well under pressure.
• Must be able to multi-task.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Significant standing, walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling,

Reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift articles up to 50 lbs.

• l\'Assurance que toute r\xc3\xa9paration et entretien soit correct et conform\xc3\xa9ment aux r\xc3\xa8glements de la SAAQ.

• l\'Assistance \xc3\xa0 la r\xc3\xa9ception et l\'exp\xc3\xa9dition des pi\xc3\xa8ces de rechange et d\'\xc3\xa9quipement.

Qualifications:

Le candidat parfait :

• poss\xc3\xa8dera des qualifications en tant que technicien de camion diesel et/ou d\'autobus
• sera en possession d\'un permis de conduire Classe 2 Qu\xc3\xa9bec valable, sans infractions graves
• poss\xc3\xa8dera une connaissance profonde des r\xc3\xa8glements de la SAAQ et SIMDUT
• pourra travailler diff\xc3\xa9rents horaires y compris des p\xc3\xa9riodes de travail rotatifs
• devra entreprendre plusieurs t\xc3\xa2ches \xc3\xa0 la fois dans un environnement intense et \xc3\xa9nerg\xc3\xa9tique
• aura des connaissances profondes d\'ordinateur, d\'organisation et de communication
• de l\'exp\xc3\xa9rience dans le domaine de transport est un avantage
• poss\xc3\xa8dera une \xc3\xa9criture nette et sera capable de remplir les bordereaux de travail et de compl\xc3\xa9ter les documents requis

• de l\'exp\xc3\xa9rience dans l\'entretien pr\xc3\xa9ventif d\'un parc de v\xc3\xa9hicules dans le domaine de l\'industrie d\'autobus est un avantage

\xc3\x8atre capable de communiquer oralement en Fran\xc3\xa7ais et en Anglais aura la pr\xc3\xa9f\xc3\xa9rence
